This year the Market to Market relay, a running relay race from Omaha to Lincoln was slightly abbreviated due to the flooding in Downtown Omaha. This forced a shift to a new start venue and shortened up the route by a few miles so instead of doing 86mi, it was 78 this year.
Great Job to Ben Cohoon for the organization and to all the 100's of volunteers. This is quite the orchestration. Thanks to Scott Wieskamp who once again demonstrated his exceptional organizational skills taking care of getting our two teams together and entered into the race.
Scott W handing off to Ken Lackey at Grandpa's Woods Golf course. We had the young guys team and Masters team both sponsored by Lincoln Running co / Pepsi. Thank you Ann From Lincoln Running Company and all the employees over there for putting up with us fickle old farts.
The Young guys would field a 6 man team this year with last minute a drop from Scott Broady coming down with Lyme disease. They go onto claim 2nd place overall in a time of 8.03.53 - blazin.
Darin taking off at Papillion South High. And congrats to our Masters team who take 6th overall and 1st in the masters division for the 4th consecutive year in a time of 8.29.59. What a blast. This has become a must do for us, it is such a pleasure to see so many people having such a great time and just a great day spent with friends. My wife even did it this year too with team Indecisive in the mixed master division...winning the predictatime competition. She couldn't believe how fast the day goes by given the constant running, relaying to the next point, and just great sight seeing on a beautiful fall day!
