This goes under the "it doesn't take much to make me happy" theme. I've noticed for about a month as we rolled by 82nd on Roca road that something was "up". Yep finally got a chance to check it out this weekend - twice- with KW and my son Noah. New Pavement from Roca Road to Hickman road on 82nd street. From there it continues paved to Panama road. This a good thing because now you can by-pass 68th street from Roca to Hickman using the new road and leave the crazy Hickman commuters to their daily grind. I know a few folks (Marc) that have been tagged on this road so it's good riddance. Opens up a few new loops for us cyclists...yes it does. However, it does come with a downside...yep, the gravel road grinders are down another 3 miles of gravel. Kinda on both sides of the fence on this one, but I'll take having a new option to get to Hickman on the road bike.
Other news. Great turnout at the Bridges last night. At least 20 people and some spectators. We did a 20 lap = 20 miles race @ 25 mph ave. That's a good clip considering our numbers.
Omaha cycling weekend returns this weekend. Probably see you there. Should be busy weekend.
