Good weekend. Legs are coming around...spent some time in the pool last week, did few short runs, and some good rides to help get things loosened up. Starting to feel a little normal...if there is such a thing.
Saturday morning was Noah's last Jr high Track meet of the season. Kid did good, seems to have a knack in the mile, setting a new PR for himself and the 7th grade win. 5:35 stopwatch time.
After the Track meet, met up with TK out in Ceresco by way of the Platte River Battle Royale. He was out for another hundy. Only 50 for me, soft pedalling the whole way careful not to corrupt the knees. The sun and warm temps felt good and so did the ride.
Here TK's getting the call after being out for 8 hrs..."when you going to be home?"
"Almost there."
Abigails quote of the day - "I don't want today to end."
Yep pretty much says it. Saturday was one of those days where the temps are perfect and a good vibe in the air.
Moms day - did church in the morning and then a family bike ride. Did what has become the family Holmes lake loop. 20 miles ish. Good time.
Postmarathon blues...that's what I'll call it - someone has probably already coined it. It's a disorder after completing a marathon, kind of like postpartum depression. (Ladies, don't get bummed on me...I know nothing is as hard as child birth.;)) This big event that you've spend a good chunk of the last year preparing for -suddenly it's over. Your beat, not able to rest well your body is all sore, can't really train for anything because your...sore, your main motivational focus is no longer on the horizon. And yet...you can't wait to do another one because dammit...you can do it better the next time.
